The NSS units of Patna Women’s College has started 7 day Special Camp on 17th Jan 2023 on the theme ”
Inclusive India “.
The camp started with a inaugural session by NSS coordinator PU, Dr. Suheli Mehta, Principal Patna Women’s
College Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Shahla Rehana and Dr. Amrita. Dr. Sister M.
Rashmi A.C focused on the empowerment of all marginalised sections of the population and motivated the NSS
volunteers to help everyone who is in need. Dr. Suheli Mehta explained about the responsibilities of NSS
volunteers and the importance of special camp. Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Amrita. Dr.Shahla Rehana
briefed about the theme of the camp.
It was followed by a Dance session on fusion of several cultures by Cultural Coordinator Enakshi Dey Biswas.
In the afternoon a pot painting competition was conducted in which students in groups participated. 20 students in
groups of two participated in Pot painting competition on the topic “Diverse culture of India”.
50 volunteers participated in the Special Camp. The day concluded with feedback by two volunteers.

Five NSS volunteers of Patna women’s college have been selected for National Integration camp from 17th to 23rd Jan 2023 to be conducted by KLE, Belgavi , Karnataka.

Patna Women’s college NSS unit organised an Inter college Rangoli competition to celebrate National Youth day. 14 teams from different colleges of P U participated.The theme was LIFE AND TEACHINGS OF SWAMI VIVEKANAND.

The NSS Unit Patna Women’s College under Sehat kendra, organised Sehat talk show on 7th December, 2022.

The theme for the talk show was ‘Mental and sexual well being’. The resource person for the event was Dr. Shubham Shree, M.A. M Phil in social work, medical social service officer, IGIMS. She focused on the importance of mental health for students. She emphasied on how important it is for adults as well as teenagers to journalise and express their feelings through diary writing.She also talked about how people should ask for help from counsellors and not to set unrealistic expectations.

Towards the end there was an interactive session where the students were free to ask question. The session was of great help for the students. Around 100 students actively participated for the talk show.

The event was held under the guidance of Programme Officers Dr. Amrita, Asst. Professor, Department of Physics and Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English and it was moderated by Pankhuri and Sakina Khatoon.

NSS volunteer Rajshree of Department of English got the 1st prize in STATE LEVEL painting competition organised by BIHAR STATE AIDS CONTROL SOCIETY

On the occasion of NSS day, an orientation program for blood donation and a session was organised by the program officers Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department Of English and Dr. Amrita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics on 24th September 2022 at 11:00 AM . The Resource person was Dr. Reena Ranjan , Incharge, Blood bank- Kurji Holy Family Hospital.

The program started with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English. Thereafter, Dr. Reena Ranjan explained the importance of blood donation. The NSS unit is going to organize Blood Donation camp on 30th September ‘ 2022.

It was an enriching experience for the students to interact and get motivated towards the noble cause of blood donation.

The event was hosted by Pankhuri Sinha and Sharmin Alam. The program was attended by 100 students The program was concluded by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Amrita.

In order to celebrate the Rashtriya Poshan Maah, an invited talk by Dr. Shazia Husain, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science was conducted on 24th September ‘ 2022 at 12.00pm.The topic of talk was ” Holistic Care for Women’s Health and Wellness”. The resource person elaborated about the issues related to women health and do’ s and dont’ s for a healthy lifestyle .

SPEECH COMPETITION

A speech competition was organized by NSS under the Sehat Kendra on 30th march 2022 from 1p.m. to 2.30 p.m. in the video conferencing hall of the college. Many volunteers actively participated in it and gave their speeches on the topic “Impacts of covid 19 on students and their career opportunities”

The event began by welcoming the judges Mr. Rohit Singh, Asst. professor, Dept. of physics and Dr. Amrita, Asst. professor, Dept. of physics from Patna Women’s College. Then the participants presented their views on the given topic.

Mr. Rohit Singh appreciated the hard work of the participants and also motivated all the students to work hard and get their pace back in life, post pandemic. Dr. Amrita announced the winners for the event and congratulated them. It was indeed a very successful event.

1st August 2018: Swachhta Shapath and Guest Lecture

The NSS, Patna Women’s College Unit, celebrated ‘Swachhta Pakhwara’ from 1st to 15th August 2018 under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” campaign. During this period, the NSS  conducted various activities elated to the cleanliness drive. As part of this programme under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C. together with Programme Officers Dr. Keerti Choudhary and Ms. Priti Kumari.

As part all the celebration Guest Lecture on ‘Cleanliness our Surrounding’ was organized in the College, Dr. Manish Chandra delivered the lecture.

About 100 NSS volunteers attended the lecture and took an oath (Swachhta Shapath). Volunteers will also spread this message to another hundred people and make them devote 100 hours per year for cleanliness. This step would result in making a ripple in cleaning India and then make India a better place to live in. This was one of the profound concerns of the Father of Our Nation – Mahatma Gandhi.

 

2nd August 2018: Campus Cleaning and Grass Cutting

100 NSS volunteers participated in the Campus Cleaning Programme during the Swachhta Pakhwara.

 

7th August 2018: Orientation Programme and Enrollment Ceremony

An Orientation Programme for New NSS volunteers was held in the College. Dr. Atul Aditya Pandey, Programme Co-ordinator, NSS, Patna University addressed the volunteers. He spoke about the aims, objectives, motto and the various regular activities undertaken by the NSS Volunteers during their two years of enrollment as volunteers of NSS. The Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhary, and Ms. Priti Kumari also addressed the volunteers and asked them to devote 120 hours of social service to the community.

The Principal, Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C. addressed the volunteers and encouraged them to do small things in their capacity to serve society. The new NSS volunteers were enrolled and Principal gave them NSS Dairy and Sash. They were 100 students registered themselves as NSS Volunteers.

 

8th August 2018: Slum Visit

The NSS, Patna Women’s College Unit visited Adalat Ganj Slum, Patna to create awareness among the school children regarding cleanliness. A number of events are being organized in the College like cleaning the campus, visit Adalat Ganj, slogan making competition, easy writing competition, cleanliness rally etc. on the theme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The various programme is being held in the College under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C., and the Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhary and Ms. Priti Kumari and about 100 NSS volunteers are attending the events.

 

9th August 2018: Slogan Writing Competition

On the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwara NSS, Patna Women’s College Unit, organized a Slogan Writing Competition on cleanliness, clean India Green India, and Say No For Plastic. On this occasion, 50 volunteers wrote slogans.

 

10th August 2018: Essay Writing Competition

On the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwara NSS, Patna Women’s College Unit, organized a Essay Writing Competition on ‘Clean India, Green India, Say No for Plastic and Cleanliness’. On this occasion about 50 volunteers were participated and wrote essay.

 

13th August 2018 : Orphanage Visit

The NSS, Patna Women’s College Unit visited Orphanage Apna Ghar, Punaichak, to create awareness among them regarding cleanliness.

 

14th August 2018 : Cleanliness Rally

100 volunteers participated rally on cleanliness inside the College campus with posters and banner to create awareness among the students to keep their surroundings clean. All the NSS volunteers were exited to show the importance of cleanliness in their day to day lives.

 

15th August 2018 : Independence day

25 volunteers along with the Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhary and Ms. Priti Kumari attended the Independence Day Programme, which was held in Science College, Patna Universtiy. Volunteers participated in March Past.

 

25th August 2018 : Valedictory Ceremony of Patna University’s Centenary Year

The Valedictory/closing ceremony of Patna University’s Centenary Year celebration was held at Bapu Sabhagar of Samrat Ashoka Convention Centre, near Gandhi Maidan on a grand scale.

NSS volunteers contributed their service by acting as vigilance near the entrances to the programme and also by helping the audience find seats for themselves inside the hall.

NSS students who volunteered for the function: Pushpanjali, Priya Jaiswal, Madhu, Nancy Bhavini of Unit- I and Sanya, Aakanksha, Tamanna of Unit- II.

 

8th September 2018 : World Literacy Day

NSS Volunteers, under the guidance of Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhry and Ms. Priti Kumari organized dance performance in the beginning, games like musical chair, passing the parcel and statue game. Prizes were given to the first three winners. Our Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. graced the occasion and shared important information with the volunteers regarding the status of literacy in our region, Bihar and encouraged us to work for its betterment. Ameeta Jaiswal, Head, Department of Philosophy distributed some gifts to the little children as a gesture of love and appreciation. The little kids thoroughly enjoyed the event.

 

23rd September 2018 : Launching of Ayushman Bharat Mission

‘Ayushman Bharat’ – a health scheme of poor families which assures a coverage of upto Rs. 5 lakh per year without paying any money at the listed private or government hospitals was launched successfully by Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar and also a nationwide launch by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inform Ranchi, Jharkhand.

The programme was held at Bapu Sabhagar, Gandhi Maidan and was attended by several notable dignitaries – Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister, Shri Ram Kripal Yadav, Shri Ashwini Kumar Chowbey, Shri Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Bihar Assembly Speaker, Shri Mangal Pandey, State Health Minister and many others.

 

More than 1.08 crore families in Bihar would be covered under the scheme, with full perseverance and complete transparency, as said by our revered on. Also, a beneficiary from Bihar State can get the benefits even if he/she stays in Mumbai. The quantum of this scheme can be judged by the fact that the total number of beneficiaries of this scheme will be greater than the entire population of USA, Canada, and Mexico. It is a revolutionary step in the health sector of our country. Our 15 volunteers attendant the programme and were well informed by this event.

 

24th September 2018 : NSS Day Celebration

On 24.09.2018, Volunteers and Programme Officers of NSS Units from different Colleges of Patna University attended the NSS Day Celebration, organized at Wheeler Senate Hall, Patna University. The programme was held from 11:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m.

Patna University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rash Bihari Prasad Singh, honoured as the Chief Guest for the programme. NSS Co-ordinator Dr. Atul Aditya Pandey addressed the volunteers with a welcome speech and highlighted the role of NSS in the lives of students and for society. Prize distribution was held to honor the participants of Republic Day Parade, winners of Swacch Bharat Summer Internship and the magazine for previous years’ NSS activities, ‘Samarpan’ was launched by the Vice-Chancellor.

In his speech, Dr. Rash Bihari Prasad Singh emphasized the role of villages and its development in our society as well as the importance of tree plantation. He introduced the volunteers to a new scheme “ Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ under which 5 villages are adopted and our NSS teams will be allotted the respective villages to identify it’s the problems faced while its development and sorting it out. Under the technical support of IIT Delhi as well as Subject Expert Groups (SEGs). Lastly, the programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Keerti Choudhary, NSS, Programme Officer, Patna Women’s College.

 

31st October 2018: Sardar Patel Jayanti National Unity Day

NSS Volunteers from Unit I and II, together marked the occasion of National Unity Day and paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth Anniversary (31st October).

Volunteers actively participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ which commenced from the Raj Bhawan at 07:00 a.m. and ended up near Eco Park, Gate 3 at 08:30 a.m. Caps and refreshments were provided to the volunteers.

In the College campus, the students celebrated the day by Swearing to the ‘Pledge for Unity’, followed by speech programme. Aakanksha, Shagufta, Stuti and two other volunteers delivered their informative speech, expressing their views on the role played by ‘The Iron Man of India’ in uniting our country. The volunteers displayed excellent speaking abilities. The programme was headed by our respected Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhary and Ms. Priti Kumari.We hope, the objective of promoting national integration as well as maintaining the unity and integrity of the country was successfully fulfilled through these programmes.

 

1st December 2018: International AIDS Day

21 NSS volunteers from both the units of Patna Women’s College, NSS wing participated in the Awareness Run organized by the Bihar State Aids Control Society on the eve of International AIDS Day. State Health Minister, Shri Mangal Pandey, inaugurated the run from Rajbhawan by cutting the ribbon. Students from various colleges of Patna were present. It was a 5 km run starting at 07:20 a.m. from Rajbhawan to Gandhi Maidan via Bailey Road. Karuna Singh Man from BSACS unit delivered a short speech regarding AIDS awareness and there was also a beautiful song present by our states rising star, Maithili Thakur. At the Gandhi Maidan, few other programmes were organised by BSACS in partnership with HDFC Bank, Times of India and others; like singing and Nukkad Natak on AIDS awareness. Our young star Maithili Thakur mesmerised the guidance wither beautiful voice. Volunteers were also provided with food packets and drinks. Our Programme Officers, Dr. Keerti Choudhary and Ms. Priti Kumari also joined the Programme with us. A programme was held from 07:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.)
