Abstract : In today’s world, women entrepreneurs play an imperative role and they have become central figure in the global business environment which is really important for the relentless economic growth and social progress. The foremost purpose of this article is to find out the status of women entrepreneurs in India, and it also focuses on the rationale behind women’s entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the present study has been an attempt to generate awareness and to understand the meaning of women entrepreneurship and how important it is for the development of the world. The Bihar Government has launched several schemes for the growth of

women entrepreneurs. A few of the major problems in availing funds of the government schemes are: unawareness, paucity of time, discrimination against women entrepreneurs and complex official formalities. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the schemes launched by the Government of Bihar, such as Mukhyamantri Mahi/a Udyami Yojana, Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD), Jeevika, etc, to make women in Bihar financially self-reliant.
