Abstract: The plant generates a variety of bioactive compounds, turning it into a valuable reservoir of various medicinal substances and therapeutic qualities. This study specifically aimed to assess the plant’s antimicrobial activity, antioxidant potential, conduct phytochemical analysis, compare its antimicrobial efficacy with selected antibiotics. The ethanolic extract from leaf, stem and root of Tinospora cordifolia were assessed for their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic microorganisms, including E.coli, Proteus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Pseudomonas spp. The experiment involved testing concentrations of 200, 400, 600 and 800 mg per ml. Results indicated that as the extract concentration increased, so did the antimicrobial activity, as evidenced by an enlargement

in the size of the inhibition zone. The assessment of antioxidants involved conducting a total reducing power test. The ethanolic extract exhibited the highest overall antioxidant activity, and it was observed that as the concentration increased, the reducing power of the extract samples also increased significantly. When comparing the effectiveness of antibiotics against pathogens, it was observed that the antimicrobial activity of various extracts was minimal. However, this activity might become more significant at substantially higher concentrations, especially when compared to other antibiotics.

Keywords: Tinospora cordifolia, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant property, phytochemical analysis, antibiotics.
