Abstract : When it comes to the tribal group and that to the tribal groups of Bihar there is very little light shed on them. In this research work, we explore the history of tribal movements in Bihar, investigating how things changed before and after the colonial period. In the past, indigenous communities in Bihar had their own vibrant cultures. After the colonial era, external influences started shaping these communities. This research
also provides a deeper understanding of Bihar’s tribal history, shedding light on how indigenous cultures interacted with outside influences during crucial historical periods.

They raised their voices against oppression, but their struggles were often labelled as isolated rebellions, attempting to separate them from the mainstream narrative of the nation. It was claimed that they lacked awareness and were not capable of leading any movement. Modern research has debunked these beliefs and proven that these tribal communities were not lagging behind in the independence movement (Das and Kumar, 2017).
