Collaborative Guest Lecture 2024

The Department of English, Patna Women’s College organised a collaborative Guest Lecture on 22nd October, 2024 from 11 a.m to 12 p.m.

The topic for the event was “The World of Linguistics: Dimensions and Possibilities”.

The Resource person for the day was Dr. Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College.

The lecture was conducted in online mode. Students from four colleges namely Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru, Karnataka, Sophia Girls’ College (Autonomous), Ajmer, Rajasthan, St. Xavier’s College Jaipur (Autonomous), and General Sukhdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College (Autonomous) Patiala, Punjab joined the informative lecture.

The Lecture helped students dive deeper into the world of Linguistics.It dealt briefly with Linguistics and its various branches. It also focused on the future prospects of Linguistics.
The Lecture was also a detailed probe in the world of Language Documentation.
It also included the impact of various linguistic associations in the promotion of Linguistic Studies.
The session also dealt with implications of NEP 2020 on Linguistics and the latest updates made in the field.

Students from Semester 3 of the Department of English, Patna Women’s College attended the lecture.
The session ended with a fruitful interaction between the resource person and the participants.
