On 24th July 2025, the Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, enthusiastically participated in a Poster-Making Competition organized to mark Van Mahotsav – a festival dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vital importance of trees and forests.

A total of 141 students from the department took part in the competition in groups, creating thought-provoking and visually engaging posters that effectively highlighted the indispensable role of forests in maintaining environmental balance. These posters served as impactful visual representations, underlining the significance of forests in regulating climate, conserving biodiversity, maintaining water cycles, and ensuring overall ecological health.
The event aimed to instill environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among the students towards the conservation and restoration of natural resources.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology, with the active involvement and support of all the faculty members, whose encouragement played a key role in making the event a resounding success.
