The SRISHTI Environment Club, in collaboration with the Department of Geography, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2025 on the theme “Planting Saplings of Sustainability”. The event fostered a spirit of environmental stewardship and community engagement, highlighting college commitment to a greener future. The celebration was made possible by the encouragement of our respected Principal, Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., and esteemed Vice Principal, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C. The programme commenced with a welcome speech by Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, coordinator, SRISHTI Environment Club and Assistant Professor, Department of Geography. Dr, Amrita Chowdhary, Coordinator IQAC and Head, Department of Geography, administered the oath of SRISHTI Environment Club. She highlighted the aims and objectives of SRISHTI Environment Club and encouraged the students to save environment and quoted “You all are the Warriors of nature who are here to protect the Mother Earth”. The members of the club sang the melodious SRISHTI Environment Club anthem. Faculty members Dr. Sister Anna A.C., Ms. Tulika Kumari and Ms. Jahanvi were also present on this occasion. Over 150 students brought plant saplings. Rimpi Aishwarya and Amrita from the Department of Geography, and Sachi from the Department of Psychology recited self written poems that amplified the importance of this day. The event was coordinated by Ms. Meenakshi Mishra, coordinator SRISHTI Environment Club and Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and the Vote of Thanks was given by Shailja Gautam, Environment and Discipline Secretary, Student Council, 2025-2026.
