The Department of Data Science & Analytics organized the Fresher’s Day event on the 30th of July, 2024 to welcome the new batch of students. The event aimed to build relations among students and provide a platform for freshers to showcase their talents. Every student eagerly awaits right from their time of admission for the most remarkable event of the college “Fresher’s Day”.
Venue and Decoration:
The event took place in the Data Science lecture room, MCA Block which was beautifully decorated with balloons and handmade crafts by the Semester 1 students. The entrance was adorned with a welcome board and rangoli by the students.
Panel of Judges:
The panel of judges for the event was there to ensure a fair and diverse evaluation of the participants. The judges included esteemed faculty members from various fields such as:
- Rajeev Ranjan, Department of Zoology.
- Papita Dey Biswas, Cultural Coordinator, Department of Performing Arts, Patna Women’s College.
Judging criteria:
The judges used a comprehensive set of criteria such as creativity and originality, skill and technique, presentation and stage presence, and relevance to the theme.

Participants:
The participants were divided into groups according to the alignment of the events to showcase their talents in multiple categories. Here are the aligned events and participants:
- Anchoring: Aqsa Shamshir Khan and Jiya Kumari
- Solo performance: Khushi Kumari
Theme: Semi-classical
- Drama: Ananya Jha, Pranishitha Giri, Shakshi Singh, Aditi Kumari, Anushtha Kumari, Khushi Kumari, Kaushambi Kumari, Komal Yadav, Rubana Zakee and Charu Mudgal.
Theme: College Life (Comedy)
- Solo performance: Charu Mudgal
Theme: Semi-classical
- Singing: Aqsa Shamshir Khan and Pranishitha Giri
Theme: Motivating
- Group dance: Ananya Kumari, Kaushambi Kumari, Aditi kumari and Khushi Kumari
Theme: Fusion
Event Highlights:
Inauguration:
The event commenced at 12:15 p.m. with the warm welcome song. The cultural performances followed this which included the dance, singing, and skit that enhanced the talents & creativity of students. The freshers got a chance to display their skills and make a mark on their peers.
Ms. Fresher Contest:
It was the much-anticipated part of the event. Participants were judged based on their confidence, talent, and wit. After the series of performances, the title of Ms. Fresher was awarded to Ms. Charu Mudgal, Roll 04, who impressed the judges with her charisma and talent.
The Closing Ceremony:
The event concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all those who contributed in the success of the day and feedback from Ms Papita Dey Biswas who appreciated the hard work and motivated the students for the future.
Conclusion:
The judge’s feedback highlighted the planning and efforts that characterized the Fresher’s Day celebrations. The positive comments reflected the success of the event in fostering a sense of community and belonging among the freshers. Dr. Priyadarshini, Head, Department of Data Science and Analytics and other faculty members were present on this occasion
