“Intellectual Property Rights: Significance in Research “

Department of Home Science along with the Department of Psychology and IQAC, Patna Women’s College conducted a guest lecture virtually on 18-03-2023 at 11:00am. The topic of the lecture was “Intellectual Property Rights: Significance in Research “. It was organized for the PG students of all the PG departments. Dr. Nidhi Saxena, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Sikkim University, Gangtok was the resource person of the program. She provided a comprehensive understanding about the importance of IPR in the field of research. She gave a practical understanding of how IPR could be applied in various contexts of research and shed light on IPR violation, innovation and creativity. She explained the various legal concepts related to copyrights, patents, trademark designs, geographical indications, farmer’s right for protection of plant, biological diversity, biological resources and highlighted their significance in the field of research community. 75 students from all PG Department of Patna Women’s College attended the programme.
