On August 13, 2024, the Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, organized an informative session on the occasion of International Youth Day under Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement (P.A.C.E) programme with the collaboration of MVEIC (Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre) observing on the theme – “From clicks to Progress: youth digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”. Digitalization is transforming our world, offering unprecedented opportunities to accelerate sustainable development. So, the theme for this year observes Youth digitalization can bring to attain sustainable goals. The resource person for the event was Dr. Ritesh Kumar, Senior Project Manager, Institution Building, Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS) JEEVIKA. The program commenced by presenting a plant sapling as a token of respect by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work. The inaugural speech was presented by Mr. Alok John, Dean- National, International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s College. The event was attended by the students of social work, both Semester 1 and Semester 3 along with the faculty members Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College, Sister S. Sanjana A.C. Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College. The resource person emphasized broadly on how the social sector can provide various employment opportunities. He also highlighted the changing demographic dividend in the population of youth currently and their importance. Mr. Kumar also emphasized on the organisation Jeevika and its role in empowering women. He talked about the employability amongst women population in rural areas through self-help groups. The session was followed by an interactive question answer round by the students followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College expressing her gratitude to everyone for the successful execution of the event.
