Nutritional Awareness Program
On September 2, 2024, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College, Patna University, in collaboration with the Zaika-Cookery Club, organized a Nutritional Awareness Program for homemakers in celebration of National Nutrition Month. The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. Sunita Kumari, a faculty member from the Department of Home Science. The theme for the event was “Nutritious Food for All,” aimed at raising awareness about healthy eating habits and promoting a healthy future.
Various student groups presented dietary guidelines for Indians through PowerPoint presentations, offering valuable insights. They highlighted the importance of a balanced and appropriate diet for children and adolescents, encouraged the consumption of ample vegetables and fruits, advised against processed foods. Furthermore, they emphasized the need to drink plenty of water among other key recommendations.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mahrukh Mumtaz, a student from the Department of Home Science. The program was well-attended by students of the Home Science department and homemakers. This event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Sunita Kumari, Faculty member of Home Science, Patna Women’s College. All the faculty members of Home Science department were present in the event.
The entire event was organised under the guidance of Dr. Sr. M. Tanisha A.C., Head, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College.
