Awareness Generation Sessions by students in Adopted Slums under P.A.C.E (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement) Programme.
On August 30, 2024, the Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, under the ‘P.A.C.E’ (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement) Programme organised a session on “Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness” in the adopted slums (Adalat Ganj and Patna Mahila Ayog). The students of social work department participated in it with great enthusiasm and interest. This interactive session was mainly focused on Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices and it’s importance to public health. The students made them aware about how lack of access to safe water, proper sanitation, and inadequate hygiene practices have been linked with the increased risk of transmitting infectious diseases like cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A, and many other water-related diseases. They also discussed about the remedies and possible preventive measures. This fruitful and informative session was conducted by the students under the guidance of Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head , Department of Social Work , Patna Women’s College and Sr. Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College.
