Abstract: Alcohol consumption is more a disease than pleasure. Alcohol abuse has been contributing to health issues, domestic violence and crime, making it imperative for the state to take action.So,government of Bihar in 2016 took an action and passed an act of alcohol ban.This policy is no doubt considered as an effective step in the betterment of society and have various positive including public health concerns, reducing alcohol related crimes and decrease in cases of domestic violence.
However, public opinion on alcohol ban often varies and the pros and cons of alcohol ban is still a matter of debate.So, this research basically aimed to present an overview of the field
work on Impact of its ban on domestic maid servants: a sociological study of urban areas of Patna.
This research paper provides a comprehensive understanding of alcohol consumption related issues and assess the rate of change in the life of consumer and his partner/spouse. Formulation of hypotheses was done on the basis of rate of change in the life of domestic maid servants. Methods of data collection was primary and secondary data.Tool used for data collection include interview schedule and also observation. For analyses of data researchers have used both qualitative as well as quantitative data of analyses.

Introduction:
Alcohol is that toxin the more you Consume the less you live. The harmful use of alcohol can also result in harm to other people such as family members, friend, Co workers and strangers. According to national survey of extent, Pattern and trends of drug abuse in India 2004 “Alcohol is the most used substance for addiction”. Alcohol is a depressant and it impairs ability to drive, slowdown reaction time and causes to make some risky decision that one wouldn’t take normally continuous and heavy drinking of alcohol leads to alcoholism.
Alcoholism causes disillusionment, unhappiness and troubles in family life. An alcoholic person is mostly prone to indulge into criminal activities. Alcoholism is a
