Central Library Patna Women’s College organized ‘A BOOKMARK DESIGN CONTEST‘ on 22nd January 2026 for students on the occasion of ‘REPUBLIC DAY 2026’. The Theme was ”Aatmanirbhar Bharat & Vande Mataram”. Students of various departments participated in the contest. The participants showed keen interest in the library contest. The Bookmarks were evaluated by Geetanjali Choudhary, Coordinator of Fashion Designing Department.
The contest winners are:
Ø First Place: Akanksha Suman (Session: 2025-2029) from Geography Department.
Ø Second Place: Saema Faridi from Microbiology Department and Sakshi Kumari from Psychology Department (Session: 2024-2028).
Ø Third Place: Aatmaja Jha (Session: 2025-2029) from Microbiology Department and Harshita Angelo (Session: 2024-2028) from English Department.
On 11th February 2026 certificates were distributed by Dr. Sister Jincy A.C. Superior of Avila Convent to the winners and to Ms. Saumya Singh, Internship student upon successful completion of her three months internship programme.
The Librarian extended heartfelt thanks to the Principal, Patna Women’s College, Dr. Sister Jincy A.C., library staff, and all the participants of the contest.
NATIONAL LIBRARIAN’S DAY CELEBRATION
Central Library Patna Women’s College celebrated National Librarian’s day on 12th August 2025 to commemorate the 133rd birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), who is considered as Father of Library and information science in India. Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. Principal Patna Women's College, Librarian, all library staff, faculty members and students were present on this auspicious occasion. The librarian welcomed all the guests and explained the life story of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, his achievement, services and contributions in the library field. The programme began with floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. The Principal and all the staff members of Patna Women’s college paid homage and tribute to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. The inauguration of Add-on course in Library and Information Science was also held on this special occasion. The principal extended her best wishes to all the library staff on this special day. To encourage the students for maximum and efficient use of the library resources, services and facilities, “BEST LIBRARY USER AWARD” is presented every year. Sweta Kumari from Geography Department Session (2023-2027) is selected as the Best Library User for the academic year 2024-2025. The Award was given by the Principal. The librarian proposed the vote of thanks. She extended thanks to the Principal Patna Women’s College, all the guests, staff members and students for making this event a success.REPUBLIC DAY QUIZ 2025
Central Library Patna Women’s College organized Republic Day Quiz 2025 on 23rd January 2025. Students of various departments participated in the Quiz competition.
Heena Praween from Department of History, Roll No. 321, Session: 2022-2025 won the first prize. Amisha Shivani from Department of Political Science, Roll No. 178, Session: 2023-2027 and Khushi Kumari from Department of Political Science, Roll No. 161, Session: 2023-2027 both won the second prize. Komal Agarwal from Department of Mass Communication, Roll No. 30, Session: 2023-2027 won the third prize.
On 7th February 2025 certificates were distributed by the librarian. All the staff members of Library and students were present on this occasion.

HEALING WITH READING
Central Library Patna Women’s College organized ‘Photography Contest’ on 1st October 2024. The theme was ‘Healing with Reading’. Students of various departments participated in the contest. Mr. Prashant Ravi and Mr. Ajay Kumar Jha from department of Mass Communication were the judges.
Sristy Saumya from Department of Business Administration, Roll No.32, Session: 2024-2028 won the first prize. Ayushi Singh from Department of Political Science, Roll No. 448, Session: 2023-2027 won the second prize. Preety Kumari from Department of Mass Communication, Roll No.20, Session: 2023-2027 won the third prize.
On 4th December 2024 certificates were distributed by the librarian. All the staff members of library and students were present on this occasion.
