13th lecture of “Reflections Lecture Series” on 7th October, 2023

Department of English, Patna Women’s College organised the 13th lecture of “Reflections Lecture Series” on 7th October, 2023 in hybrid mode.
The topic of the lecture was “The Next Step: Publishing Classroom Based Enquiries”. The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Santosh Mahapatra, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad. The guest speaker gave his useful insights on the step by step journey of research and discussed the process of publishing for a beginner as well as for an established researcher. He talked about the method of choosing a suitable journal and elaborated upon the proofreading, copyright issues and writing norms that need to be kept in mind. He also encouraged students to pursue their ambitions, and not be disheartened by the rejections they might face in the path of publishing. The programme was coordinated by Dr Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The moderator of the event was Miss Pushpangana Rajkriti, a student of BA English 5th Semester, Patna Women’s College. The lecture was summed up by Miss Jyotsana Jha, a student of MA English Semester 3, Patna Women’s College. The technical support was provided by Dr. Apurba Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College and Dr Prabhat Jha, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The vote of thanks was delivered by Miss Shubhra, a student of MA English Semester 3, Patna Women’s College.The audience consisted of faculty members and the students of department of English. Students participated actively in the interactive session that followed the lecture. Overall, the lecture was insightful, engaging and a learning experience for everyone.
