A National Webinar Career Counselling Web Series titled “PRARAMBH”-
Patna Women’s College, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Student Council 2020 is organising PRARAMBH: A Webinar Series on Career Counselling for Students, from 22nd July to 25th July, 2020 Time: 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM. The current pandemic and cascading effects of the same has created a lot of confusion and grey areas in the minds of our college’s bright students. Career Counselling is an essential factor for identifying the real potential and guiding students towards a right career path. Career counselling will be helpful choosing a career goal, planning and give a direction to students for a better future ahead.
PRARAMBH: A webinar series will discuss career opportunities in eight sessions namely:
1) Defence Sector
2) Finance Sector
3) Management Sector
4) Production Designing, Blogging, Content Creator
5) Journalism
6) Research Field, UGC NET, Biological Content Developing
7) Civil Services
8) Software Development
Each session will be of 45 minutes.

DAY 1
Patna Women’s College organises ‘Prarambh’- A webinar series for student’s career counselling. Amongst the prevailing situation on pandemic being faced by the world globally, the renowned college of Bihar, Patna Women’s College organised PRARAMBH- a live session webinar on Zoom App and YouTube respectively initiated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the student council 2020 from 22nd to 25th July 2020. Today was the 1st day of the webinar divided into two sessions respectively.
The program commenced with a virtual lighting of the lamp followed by a prayer song. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C. gave the audience a brief introduction about the program PRARAMBH. She told the aim of this counselling session is to make students aware about the opportunities one can avail. ‘When you are at the cross road of your mind you need to remember your core values. Fly like an eagle. Take challenges, explore yourself and emerge victorious.’- Principal Sister M. Rashmi.
The first session was on the topic ‘FINANCE SECTOR’ and the second session was on the topic ‘COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES’. The speaker Ritesh Kumar, Audit Associate, KPMG, Bangalore, gave an insight about the finance sector. The career option one can avail after graduation through presentation. The second speaker Avinash Kumar, Indian army, was not able to attend the session due to the Indian Army Protocol.
Further, there was an interactive session with the participants. The coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Dr Amreeta Chaudhary and Assistant Coordinator Alok John were also present. A vote of thanks proposed.

Patna Women’s College organizes ‘Prarambh’-A webinar series for student career counselling. Today was the 2nd day of the webinar divided into two sessions. The program commenced with a beautiful video consisting of pictures of all the events and functions that has been held in the college. The first session was on the topic ‘MANAGEMENT SECTOR’ wherein the speaker, Alok John, Assistant Professor and Assistant Coordinator (IQAC), Patna Women’s College welcomed everyone. He briefed students about MBA, its genesis with PGDM, origin of B schools and what type of course and specialisation to select in future. Also discussed about the tips and techniques to crack the toughest entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT to take admission in top B schools. He then spoke about the qualities that one should inherit to become a good candidate and also advised “Participate in programs and build integrity from CV”. And lastly concluded by telling how to select a management institute in India. Further there was an interactive session with the participants in which students raised different questions and cleared their doubts.
The second session was on the topic ‘PRODUCTION DESIGNING’ wherein the speaker, Priya Shree, Founder, Priya and Satya Designs talked about how advertisers, fashion designers and copywriters work hard to showcase their creativity. She talked about the creation of set and actor’s personality as per the scene. She later advised and said, “Make portfolios, CV, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts in such a way that it speaks about you”.

Patna women’s college organizes ‘PRARAMBH’- a series of online career counselling. Followed by the previous sessions, Today was the 3rd day that included 5th and 6th session.
The 5th session was directed towards JOURNALISM. The moderators were Shubhra Sakshi (General secretary) and Simran Singh (Cultural secretary). The resource person was Jyoti Mishra, Journalist, News 18 Bihar. She is also the Alumni of Patna women’s college. The event started with the presentation of a small clip of her experience in this field. She explained the audience how we learn new things and one should have a professional commitment to themselves.
She also told the importance of being multitalented and multitasking. She suggested the listeners ‘Don’t stick to your courses but also sharpen your skills to frame a good personality’. Jyoti shared her experience by telling the importance of being bilingual and different situation faced by a journalist. The students asked their questions and made the session interactive.
The 6th session dealt with RESEARCH FIELD AND BIOLOGY CONTENT DEVELOPMENT. The speaker was Gourango Mishra, Director, GRM: Training and coaching solutions. He informed the students the significance of Career development and elaborated the need of acquiring skills. He highlighted the terms such as Education, post corona situation and career planning process. He instructed the students of Botany and Zoology to explore their field with the help of workshops, adding extra courses and Networking around themselves. At last, he shared his experience of his education, job and startup along with his future plan of setting up a microagricultural unit in the cities. The students were really enlightened with this interactive session. The Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. thanked both the guests for such an Informative session.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell in collaboration with the Student Council of Patna Women’s College organized a series of online career counselling webinars. The last day of Pararambh concluded with the 7th and 8th sessions.
The moderators of today’s session were MS. Farheen Hassan (Jt. General Secretary) and MS. Nisha Krishna (Jt. Sports Secretary).
The 7th session was aimed towards the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The resource person was Ravishek, Assistant Executive Engineer, Ministry of Road transport & highways. He was a student of IIT Patna. He started the session by depicting the few things the students should keep in mind before pursuing the civil services exams. He insisted the participants sort their long- and short-term goals. He then forwarded towards how to make a career in civil services. He guided the students towards the path of success and always be dedicated, motivated & extend their limits. Towards the end of the session, he suggested the students select their area of the subject, pick a hobby, and improve communication skills. The students inquired about their queries and made the session interactive.
The speaker of 8th session was Rohan Sinha, Senior Advisor and Product Manager at Dell. The session was directed towards Software development. He informed the students about the IT department and how to pursue a career. He broadly classified IT. He listed a few things that the students need to build a strong resume. He also briefed the students on some current trends and advised them to read a lot of books as well as blogs. He also gave his perspective on the impact of Covid19 on the IT sector. The session was interactive as students took keen participation by asking questions. At the end of the session Vice Principal Sister M.Tanisha A.C gave vote of thanks and Student Council premier expressed her gratitude to the students, resource persons, student council, and everyone associated with the 4-day interactive sessions. The Pararambh ended with the quote ‘Prarambh ka Prarambh hai’.
PRARAMBH: 4-day online career counselling came to an end
Patna Women’s College organised a career counselling series – PRARAMBH put in order by the college’s Student Council under the guidance of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The digital event was divided in eight sessions and held over a period of four days from 22nd to 25th of July,2020. The webinar was conducted on YouTube and Zoom application with hundreds of participants live streaming from 4:00pm to 5:45pm for four consecutive days.
The event commenced with a virtual lighting of the lamp and a prayer song followed by an introductory speech made by college Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C. in which she emphasised about remembering core values while facing challenges and opportunities. Each of the eight-session dealt with a different sector ranging from finance, management, production designing, combined defence services to journalism, UPSC, software development, research field and biology content development. Each session was accompanied with an interactive Q&A round wherein the students received answers to all their queries. The sessions were presided by respected dignitaries and specialists in their respective fields to provide students with first-hand information about various opportunities and challenges.
The basic agenda of the series was to guide the students in their area of interest and help facilitate a plan towards their goals and future especially in these unprecedented times. The college Vice principal Dr. Sister M.Tanisha A.C. in her event closing speech emphasised on the importance of all round development and being academically, morally and spiritually equipped to face the challenges ahead. A vote of thanks was proposed by Soumya Shree, Premier and the four-day digital event concluded with the National Anthem and the quote – ” prarambh ka prarambh hai”.
