Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College organised an event on “Topic: Career opportunities Progress & Future Application” on 18.07.2023 at 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P. M. in Mother Veronica Hall for the students of MSc Biotechnology Semester I and Semester II.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Karn , Head Dept. of Biochemistry & Biotechnology from S.B.S University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand was the Guest Speaker for today’s event. Welcome address was given Dr. Vivek Raj, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College. The guest was honoured with plant sampling as a Token of gratitude by Dr. Arti Kumari, Head, Department of Biotechnology, Patna women’s College. The event was attended by the all the students of PG Biotechnology students. All the faculty members Dr. Premlata, Assistant Professor , Dr. Vivek Raj, Assistant Professor & Dr. Alok Ranjan Assistant Professor of the department of Biotechnology were present for the event.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Karn explained about the different field of Biotechnology like Agriculture Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering , Bioinformatics etc. & roles of Biotechnologist in these areas. He opened a pathway for the newcomers that how can they secure a good job in the field of Biotech. He explained that how a M.Sc. Biotechnology students can secure a golden opportunity to work in BCIL, CSIR, DBT, ASRB, ICMR, ICAR & other Govt and Private agencies and companies. The event was followed by an interactive session, the students put forth their questions and got their queries and doubts cleared regarding Career opportunities.
At last the vote of thanks were given by Dr. Premlata, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology Patna Women’s College. The event ended with National anthem.
