Brief Report-

The Department of Zoology at Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, organized an online guest lecture in collaboration with the PG Department of Zoology, Patna University, to commemorate “World Wetland Day” on 2nd February, 2022. The lecture focused on the topic “Wetlands Action for People and Nature.” The esteemed guest speaker for the event was Dr. Aisha Sultana, a Wildlife Ecologist affiliated with the Biodiversity Parks Program at the Centre for Environmental Management of Degraded Ecosystems (CEMDE), University of Delhi. The lecture was hosted Dr. Shahla Yasmin, the Head Department of Zoology (PG) at Patna University, who introduced Dr. Aisha Sultana to the audience. During the session, students gained knowledge about different types of wetlands, their uses, their crucial role in replenishing groundwater, and their contribution as habitats for various flora and fauna, among other ecosystem services. The entire Program was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal Patna women’s College.
