Brief Report:

 

The topic of the lecture was “Diverse Voices, Diverse Themes: Poetry Anthologies in English in India”. The guest speaker was Prof. Ranu Uniyal, Professor and Former Head, Department of English and Modern European Languages, Lucknow University. She shared her insights on the poetry anthologies from the pre- independence era to the contemporary times. She discussed in great detail the diversity in themes and voices and the role of the editor in anthologies. The rise of poetry anthologies post-pandemic was dealt with in greater detail.

Dr Bindu Amat, HOD of English, Providence Women’s College, Calicut and Dr. Muniba Sami, Former Associate Professor, Department of English, Patna University also gave their valuable inputs.

The programme was hosted by Dr Devina Krishna, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The question-answer session was taken up by Ms Apurba Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College. The moderator of the event was Ms Astha, a student of M.A. English Semester III. The lecture was summed up by Ms Nancy, a student of B.A. English Honours Semester V. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Tanya, a student of B.A. English Honours Semester V. The faculty members and students of the Department of English attended the lecture.
