Brief Report:

The Department of English, Patna Women’s College, organised the Reflections Lecture Series on 28th May 2022. The speaker was Dr Basudhara Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Karim City College, Jamshedpur. The topic of the lecture was ‘Speaking to Each Other: Exploring a Tradition of Indian Women’s Poetry in English’ The event was organised through the virtual platform Zoom. Aastha moderated the session, Madiha summed up the lecture and Shambhavi proposed the vote of thanks.

The speaker traced the tradition of women’s writing in Indian English literature. Dr. Roy gave an account of the visibility and invisibility of women’s voices and the politics of their inclusion. She also gave a detailed account of feminist epistemology.

The lecture was followed by an interactive session. It was a highly informative, thought provoking and enriching session.
