On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College actively participated in a state-level awareness programme under the national initiative “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India). The event was supported by the Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna Zonal Unit, in collaboration with various youth and educational organizations on 26th June,2025.

Esteemed dignitaries including the Governor of Bihar Mr. Arif Mohammad Khan and Member of Parliament, Shambhavi Chaudhary, addressed the gathering and delivered powerful speeches. They highlighted the pressing need to eliminate the social stigma surrounding addiction and emphasized the alarming rise in drug abuse across all age groups—from teenagers to the elderly.

The importance of community vigilance was also stressed, with references to the “MANAS” portal for mental health support and a dedicated platform to report drug smuggling activities.

The campaign encouraged open conversations about mental health, rehabilitation, and breaking the cycle of addiction.

The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College reaffirmed its commitment to work towards a healthier, drug-free society through continued awareness drives and educational initiatives.
