Visit to ‘Ashadeep Skill Training Centre’

On 4th March 2024, The Department of Social Work Under Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement (P.A.C.E) Programme, organised a field visit to ‘Ashadeep Skill Training Centre’, Khaspur, Patna,.It is a holistic skill training center to train today’s unorganized youth into tomorrow’s organized earners. It’s mission and purpose is to motivate, educate and inspire them to have better learning and better earning. The purpose of the visit was to understand the roles, activities, and tasks of the centre .The organization is controlled and managed by the Director, Father Jesuraj SJ. He warm heartedly welcomed the students and faculty members of Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College. Ashadeep Skill Training Centre is one of the leading youth skill training centres in Bihar to skill, train and employ youth with 3 months specialized vocational training in Hotel Management, Nursing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tailoring and House Keeping. They were introduced about the organization’s vision and mission and the various projects implemented and run by the training centre. Consequently, the students had an interactive session with Father Jesuraj SJ, who explained them the importance of Women’s Empowerment and its relevance to Social Work Education. The Social Work students interacted with the Trainees enrolled in the training centre regarding their experiences, struggles challenges, and their future aspirations. The students also visited the Lenny Peters Home for Girls in Maner, Danapur where training classes for the youth skill development under the central government scheme ‘Samarth’ and ‘Roshni’ are being carried out by the organisation for Dalits and the underprivileged section of the society. The students had a great learning experience and productive learning outcome through this visit to the organisation. This insightful knowledge enriching visit was possible by the unwavering support and guidance of Respected Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., patna Women’s College. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College. The faculty members of department of Social work Sr. Sanjana A. C, and Ms. Akanksha were also present and the whole programme was a successful one.
