WORD BEE CONTEST – 2024
On February 12, 2024, the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies successfully organised a remarkable Word Bee competition at the Mother Veronica Innovation and Excellence Centre (MVIEC), beginning at 11 a.m. The event unfolded in two sessions, with the inaugural session featuring a warm welcome from Dr. Tauseef Hassan, Head of the Department, followed by Mr. Amitabh Ranjan taking the reins and elucidating the rules.
With over 100 participants, the first session concluded with each participant tackling 25 words. The ensuing results narrowed down the field to 10 finalists, who navigated through four challenging rounds, testing their intellectual acumen and language and literature prowess.
The triumphant participants were Agranee Shree (History), Swati Alice Clifton (English P.G.), and Mouli Pulak (English P.G.). Mr. Frank Krishner, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Runa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies, expertly moderated the competition. This spirited competition not only celebrated linguistic excellence but also showcased the department’s commitment to academic enrichment.
