The Department of Social Work on 27.03.23 organized a Workshop on ‘Skill Enhancement and Training for Street Play’. The Resource Person was Mrs Enakshi Dey Bishwas , Co-ordinator of Performing Arts, Patna Women’s College. Street Plays are considered to be one of the most important ways of connecting to people and addressing some social cause or issue. The students were informed about the purpose, basic skills and requirements in performing street plays There were different sessions like body language of the act, categorisation of the actors as per requirements, how to connect to the audiences, the language to be used, the connection among the groups as well as the audiences etc which were taught practically, The students also prepared street play on environment protection and women empowerment and then the students’ performance was assessed by Mrs Enakshi, Co-ordinator of Performing Arts. The whole session was interesting and the students actively participated and also enhanced their performance skills as per the instructions. Such skills will enhance their performance when they go for outreach visits and perform street plays as a part of social awareness generation programs etc. The session ended up with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Mridul Mishra Head, Department of Social Work, the faculty members of Department of Social Work Sr Sanjana A.C , Assistant Professor Deptt of Social Work and Aishwarya Roy , Assistant Professor, Deptt of Social Work were also present
