Brief Report of the programme – 

On 14th August 2018, Patna Women’s College celebrated the 72nd Independence Day at the College premises. The programme was organised by the Department of Political Science. The programme began with address given by the Head of the Department of Political Science, Dr. Shefali Roy, who talked about the meaning of Independence in our nation at the current times and how freedom from the negative thoughts can bring us real independence. After her inspiring words the programme started with a Classical Dance and Poetry, followed by a thematic dance dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of INDIA, later a patriotic song that celebrated the secularism of India was presented. A performance presentation that depicted the story of the freedom fighters who played a huge part in the independence of our nation was innovative and commendable concept. The programme ended with a skit presented by the students that talked about the problems of our nations, and our fundamental rights. After this Principal, Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C. congratulated the participants for their performances and their impeccable team work. The celebration ended with the National Anthem.
