An Inter- Disciplinary Career Awareness Programme

The Department of Commerce in collaboration with the Placement and Career Counselling Cell , Patna Women’s College, Autonomous , organised an Inter- Disciplinary Career Awareness Programme on 15.02.2024 , for the students of B.Com. Accounting & Finance (Honours), B.Com . Commerce Professional (Honours), B.B.A, B.Com. Advertising and Marketing Management and B.A. Economics (Honours) , in Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre. Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Head, Department of Commerce delivered the Welcome Address and emphasised on the importance of Professional Courses offered by ‘The Institute of Company Secretaries of India’.
The Resource Persons for the event were CS Santosh Kumar, Council Member, Eastern India Regional Council of ICSI and Treasurer of the Eastern India Regional Council of ICSI. The resource person gave valuable insights on career options for students regarding the profession of Companies Secretaries. CS Nikita Shekhar , Treasurer of Patna Chapter of ICSI, an alumna of Patna women’s College gave significant information on CS career opportunities .
CS Menka Gupta guided students on how to crack the exams . The session was full of useful information regarding getting placed as a CS in Companies operating in India. CS Niketa Sinha highlighted the skills to face the challenges and hurdles. She emphasised as how a company secretary serves to guard the compliances of the companies.
There was an interactive session with the participants, CS Saurabh Kirshna addressed to the inquisitions of the students regarding future prospects of the course. It was followed by feedback from the students . The concluding remarks were delivered by Mr. Alok John , Dean , National and International Collaborations & Consultancy Services. The Programme concluded with the National Anthem.
