Brief Report –

A magnificent event marked the Annual Day celebrations and the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Veronica Auditorium at Patna Women’s College on Friday, 3rd February 2023. The esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion was the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Member of Parliament, graced the event as the Guest of Honour, while Reverend Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop of the Patna Archdiocese and President of the Governing Body of Patna Women’s College, presided over the function. The event was further attended by other distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Girish Kumar Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor of Patna University; Shri Baidya Nath Yadav, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Education, Government of Bihar; Dr. Sister M. Reema A.C., Provincial Superior of the Apostolic Carmel, Northern Province; and Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Superior of Avila Convent. During his address as the Presiding Guest, the Archbishop commended the College for its exceptional service in educating girls. He emphasized the common purpose shared by everyone present, which is to provide quality education to girls and women in the state. He expressed his gratitude to the State Government and the University for their support to the College. The students’ performances during the event included an ‘Odissi Prayer Dance, a ‘Ganga Dance’ inspired by Bhupen Hazarika’s renowned rendition, ‘Ganga Behti Ho Kyon,’ a Rajasthani folk dance called ‘Tera Taali,’ and a thematic dance titled ‘Shauryam Daksham Yuddhe.’. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Alok John, Assistant Coordinator, IQAC, Patna Women’s College.
