Under the ‘Campus to Community’ initiative of the department of English, Patna Women’s College, the members of
Dakhal Theatre Society,
Patna Women’s College performed a Nukkad Play titled “Troll Nagari” at the Youth Convention organised by EVA Foundation, Parwaz Women Network and Rainbow Foundation at Hotel Golden Palm on the 9th of March 2024. These organisations work towards the empowerment of girls belonging to the marginalised sections of society especially those belonging to Dalit and minority communities by providing them legal help. This event was organised to inspire the youth to dream big and to bring about a positive change in the society.
The Nukkad Play portrayed the realities of the social media world by talking about different kinds of trolling that women experience. These can be related to ideological differences as well as patriarchal notions about women. The play was written and directed by Dr. Prabhat Jha, Coordinator, Dakhal Theatre Society, and Assistant Professor, Department of English, Patna Women’s College and co-directed by Dr. Apurba Paul, Assistant Professor,Department of English, Patna Women’s College.
