Introduction
The Social Work Club at Patna Women’s College aims to foster student engagement in social issues, promote social justice, and strengthen the connection between academic learning and community service. The club will serve as a platform for students to engage with local communities, raise awareness of social issues, and develop leadership skills through active participation in community projects.
Mission
The Social Work Club will aim to create a socially conscious student body dedicated to addressing local and global social issues, promoting social justice, and contributing positively to society. By combining academic knowledge with fieldwork, the club will offer a holistic platform for students to engage in meaningful community service and social advocacy.
Aims:
- To instil a sense of social responsibility and community service among students.
- To foster empathy, social justice, and empowerment for vulnerable and marginalized groups.
- To provide practical exposure to students regarding the real-world social issues and challenges.
- To engage students in activities that encourage active citizenship and contribute to social change.
Objectives:
- Promote Social Welfare: Organize activities that address social issues like education, healthcare, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
- Develop Social Work Skills: Provide hands-on learning experiences for students, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life social issues.
- Empower the Underprivileged: Through outreach programs, contribute towards improving the lives of underprivileged individuals and communities.
- Encourage Civic Engagement: Engage students in local, national, and global initiatives to cultivate an informed and active citizenry.
- Foster Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encourage collaboration between students, faculty, and social organizations for the holistic development of social work initiatives.
