On August 21, 2024, the Department of Botany at Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) hosted an engaging online interactive session titled “Discover and Unleash Inner Potential: A Personal Growth Journey” in MVEIC under the PWC Alumni Connect initiative. The session was graced by the presence of Ms. Neha Bharti, a Gold Medalist, NET Qualified educator, and a member of the Board of Studies in Botany.
Ms. Bharti’s insightful discourse emphasized that unlocking one’s inner potential is essentially a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. She outlined a five-step framework to guide this transformative process. The first step, self-reflection, involves a deep introspection of one’s life and aspirations. It’s a crucial phase to identify personal goals and understand the direction one wants to pursue. The second step, goal setting, provides a clear roadmap by defining specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives. Overcoming limiting beliefs is the third step, as these can hinder personal growth. It requires recognizing and challenging self-imposed limitations. The fourth step, learning and growth, involves continuous self-improvement through reading, seeking inspiration from others, and acquiring new knowledge. The final step, action, involves breaking down goals into smaller, manageable steps and taking consistent action towards achieving them.
The students actively participated in the session, asking questions and receiving valuable guidance from Ms. Bharti. Dr. Pinky Prasad, the Head of the Department, delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the significance of personal growth for the students’ future success. The program was moderated by Aleena Khan, and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Fariza Abulais, both students of Botany Semester V. All the faculty members attended the session.
