The Department of Sociology organised an anti-ragging Day on 12th August, 2023 at 9:30 am in the MTH Hall. A video was displayed in the class on the topic “Anti-Ragging” for the students of semesters I, II, and III semester of B.A. Sociology. The objectives of the movie show were to aware students about the anti-ragging Act, and the physical and emotional violence faced by the students in educational institutions. The students were aware about the provision of punishment under Indian Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt against act of ragging. In the last session of the programme, Dr. Tapashi Bhattacharjee, HOD, Department of sociology delivered a brief lecture on Anti-ragging Act. Students of 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters participated in the programme. The number of participation was 160. All the teacher of the department of sociology was present at the programme.Students of Sociology watching a video on Anti- Ragging on the occasion of Anti -Ragging Day on 12th August, 2023
