Earth Day 2024

On the occasion of Earth Day, 22.04.2024, the ECO Task Force in collaboration with NSS, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, PU, formed a Human Chain outside the College Gate to spread awareness. The theme of this year’s Earth Day celebration was Planet Vs Plastics.
Students displayed banners and various placards to bring attention to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms nature, to reduce the use of plastics and its adverse effect on the health of our Planet.
More than 90 ETF and NSS members participated in this event.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology and Vice-President ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College. All the teachers of the Department of Zoology-Dr Sumeet Ranjan, Dr Sapna Kumari, Dr Neetu, Mr Rajeev Ranjan and Ms Aishwarya Shree and NSS Coordinators, Dr Shahla Rehana, Department of English and Dr Amrita, Department of Physics, were present on the occasion to motivate the students to spread the message of protecting Mother Earth and highlighting the health and environmental hazards posed by plastic.
The students pledged to reduce the use of plastic in their daily life.
