World Social Work Day 2024

On 21st March 2024, The Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College, celebrated “World Social Work Day” with this year’s theme ‘Shared Future for Transformative Change’. The students of the department of Social work participated enthusiastically and performed various activities. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome dance. A poster was presented addressing the need of various ‘Social Rights’ for everyone in society in order to attain transformative change, It was followed by an aspirational song , the students also displayed a short documentary on ‘Outreach activities and extension programs’ showcasing the field experiences and projects in which the students of the department are engaged through various organisations like Helpage India, Care India, Being Helper Foundation, CIMP Manthan etc . It also highlighted the initiatives taken by the department to solve the problems prevailing in different slums and communities through the “P.A.C.E. Programme” (Personal advancement and career enhancement). The students then performed a group dance on the theme ‘Women empowerment’, followed by a skit with a message to put a stop on social evils like ‘Child Labour’ and ‘Gender Discrimination’ and put focus on ‘Women education’. The Whole Programme was moderated by ‘Vartika Singh’ ,student of Department of Social Work 4th Sem. At the end of the programme, feedback from esteemed guests, Sr. Gracy A. C, Sr. Saroj A.C. Head, Department of Education, Sr. Geeta A.C. Head, Department of Community College and by all other faculty members was given who appreciated and encouraged the students for the event. At the end Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, the faculty members of Department of Social Work. Sr. Sanjana A. C. and Ms. Akanksha, were also present on the occassion.
