Brief Report:
A guest lecture on the topic “Yoga for Humanity” was organized by the Department of Philosophy, Patna Women’s College to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and International Day of Yoga. The resource person Dr. Sushim Dubey, Co-coordinator, P. G Diploma in Vipassana & Yoga, Dept. Of Philosophy, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara spoke about how the modifications of Chita or mind affects one’s mental health leading to the formation of a dark circle of anxiety & stress. This can be completely cured by yogic practices but if left uncured will lead to serious diseases. He said in the absence of healing one will lose his health. He also stressed the importance of pranayam which helps in relaxing all the cells of the body. Hence yogic practices as well as pranayam should be a part of everyone’s life. Around 10 to 12 students from Nava Nalanda Mahavihara gave a performance on dynamic yoga in which they exhibited 50 poses of Yoga. Head P.G dept. of Philosophy, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Dr. Vijeta Singh, and other Teachers of Patna University participated. The program was organized under the supervision of Dr. M. Rashmi A. C, Principal, Patna Women’s College & Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, Head, Dept. Of Philosophy. It was also attended by the teachers of the Department, Dr. Kumkum Rani and Dr. Keerti Choudhary.
