In collaboration with Diabesity Care Trust
The Health Centre, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), in collaboration with Diabesity Care Trust, Patna, organised a workshop on ‘Basic life support’ on 3rd January 2024 in the Carmel Hall. The Resource Person of the program was Dr. Subhash Kumar, MBBS, M.D., Director of Diabesity care centre. The program was conducted for the students and the faculty members of the Department of Home Science, Zoology and Microbiology. Dr. Rosy Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science, initiated the program by welcoming the guest of the session. The programme commenced by highlighting the prevalence of heart related issues worldwide and the importance of providing immediate basic support to revive such cases. Along with the information given, the resource person Dr. Subhash Kumar also focused on the three important life saving factors which were look, listen and feel. Along with Dr. Subhash Kumar, Ms. Anjali Vijya, MBBS student, JNU Medical College, Jaipur, through their presentation demonstrated the important techniques and procedures involved in giving CPR to the patient. The students and the facility members also performed the demonstration under the guidance of team for the better understanding. The programme was followed by an interactive question answer session from the students for a comprehensive understanding. The programme concluded with the Vote of thanks deliver delivered by Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science. The students and faculty members found the program very informative and helpful. The entire event was organized by Dr. Shazia Husain, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science under the supervision of Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal, Head, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College.
