In continuation of Earth Day celebration
In continuation of Earth Day celebration,
The ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College organized an online Earth Day Celebration Programme on 27.04.2023 with collaboration with Eco Club, Nirmala College, Ranchi.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address by Dr. Sister Jyoti, Principal, Nirmala College, Ranchi.
All the participants of both the participating colleges pledged to work for conservation of our resources and the environment.
Dr. Shobha Shrivastava,
Head, Department of Zoology,
and Vice President, ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, spoke about the importance of 53 years of foundation of Earth Day and how it is dedicated to the preservation of our planet’s environment in about 200 countries of the world, including India. She motivated the students to do their bit and join hands to invest in our planet and work together to create a healthier and more sustainable environment.
Amisha, Semester-II, Department of Zoology expressed her views on safeguarding the Earth and highlighted the year round activities of ECO Task Force, a student body of Patna Women’s College.
After the exchange of views, a Quiz was conducted by Dr. Emma Rani Seraphim, Head, Department of Zoology, Nirmala College, Ranchi. Four students each of the participating colleges participated in the Quiz.
First round of the Quiz was question-answer round, which was a tie between both the groups. Second round of the Quiz was a visual round, which had negative marks for the wrong answers. In this round, the students of Nirmala College were the winners. There were questions for the participating audience also. Students of Semester-II of the Department of Botany, Microbiology and UG and PG Semester-II of Department of Zoology were present on the occasion.

All the teachers of the Department of Zoology , were present on the occasion. Altogether it was a very successful and interesting programme.
