Organised Freshers’ Day on 30th July, 2024.

To welcome the fresher students in the Department, the Department of Psychology organised Freshers’ Day on 30th July, 2024. Students from UG 1st and PG 1st year participated enthusiastically and arranged a series of performances. Dr. Manjula Sushila, Head, Department of Hindi and Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science were the respected Guests for the event.
Ritika Singh and Shriyanshi Priyadarshi, UG Semester I, hosted the programme. The programme commenced with a prayer dance performed by Priya, Niharika, Vandana and Jhanavi, the students of UG Semester I. A melodious welcome song was performed next by a group of UG Semester I students: Sister Senso, Shubhangi, Moushumi, Akansha, Anamika and Anjali. To further entertain the audience, Jhanavi, Tuba, Vandana, Srishti, Niharika and Priya, UG Semester I students, performed an energetic Bollywood dance. Next, Bhavya from UG, presented her self-written poem titled as “College ki Galiya”. Thereafter, students of PG 1st year also showcased their talent. Rishita, Ritika, Smriti, Alisha, Anushka, Himadri, Aaliya, Tazeen and Divya sang a fun medley. Further, a group of PG students, Vanshika, Hafsa, Azra, Aditi, Sakshi, Shaheen, Harshita and Nidhi performed a Bollywood dance.
The guests appreciated all the participants who very confidently performed on the stage. They also acknowledged the efforts of the students who showed their contribution in decoration. The guests also had the responsibility to select the Miss Fresher for the Department of Psychology. Sister Senso Ronghangpi was announced as Miss Fresher 2024, Department of Psychology. She was commended with a sash, crown and a bouquet of flowers. Ritika Singh from UG 1st year presented the Vote of Thanks and with this, the programme came to its end.
