Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement Programme

On 26th September 2023, The Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College under the ‘P.A.C.E.’ (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement) Programme visited slum area ‘Adalatganj’ and also the slum near Patna High Court ‘Mahila Ayog’. The students of Social Work conducted an awareness generation session for the women on cleanliness and hygiene. The students discussed with the about the basic practices which they follow for personal and environmental hygiene. They explained them the different ways about how keep clean. They interacted with the women of the community to know and understand their situations.
The students also interacted with the children’s of the slum of the age group 6 to 12 yrs on the importance of education and its necessity and motivated the childrens to attend school regularly. The students thanked the community for giving their precious time and for their cooperation.
The sessions were fruitful, the students got to know the problems of the slums.The students realized the change which a Social worker can bring in the community and in the society at large.
The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Assistant Professor and Head Department of Social Work. Patna Women’s College.
