Raising Day 2024

NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College in collaboration with The Narcotics Control Bureau , celebrated its Raising Day on March 18, 2024, starting from 12:00 noon. Event was organized by the Programme Officers Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English and Dr. Amrita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics . The event was aimed at raising awareness about the adverse effects of drug abuse among students.

The focal point of the day was an enlightening awareness session conducted by representatives from the Narcotics Control Bureau namely

Shri Abhishek Anand , IRS, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Govt. of India and

Shri M. Sharvanan , Superintendent, Narcotics Control Bureau .

This session offered valuable insights into the dangers of drug addiction and emphasized the significance of leading a drug-free life.

Additionally, two engaging competitions were organized for the students of Patna Women’s College:

1. Reel Making Competition (Solo): Participants were invited to create short videos on the theme “Drugs End All Dreams.”

2. Poster Making Competition (Group): Students participated in this competition in groups of two. They were tasked with designing posters advocating the message “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life.” Completed posters were brought to the venue on March 18th for display.

The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their creativity while spreading awareness about the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.

The students were also provided certificates by NCB for participation in the awareness session. The NCB pledge was also taken by all the 200 persons present.

The students also recieved prizes and certificates for various competitions conducted under NSS and Sehat Kendra.
