Brief Report of the programme –
Every year, Patna Women’s College Celebrates the festival of Shravan in the a form of Shravani Dance Competition. The competition was judged by Dr. Upasana Singh, Head, Department of Education, Ms. Nimisha Manan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications (BCA) and Ms. Priti, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. There were 7 groups that participated in the competition each of which depicted a different aspect of the season. Among which 3 of them bagged the prizes. The third prize went to group 6 (Department of Business Administration) who presented the story of Radha Krishna, the 2nd prize went to group 3 (Department of Geography) who presented Ghoomar a Rajasthani folk dance whereas the first prize was won by group 7 (Department of History) who depicted the story of the arrival of rain after a long wait. After the performance Dr. Upasana Singh came on the stage and gave valuable feedback to the participants. She also encouraged the teachers, the audience and the participants to save water. The programme was concluded by the Principal of the College Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C. who applauded the performances and the hard work done by the students. The entire event was coordinated by the Cultural Co-ordinators Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C, Head, Department of Home science; Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas, Coordinator, Performing Arts and Dr. Shefali Roy, Head, Department of Political Science. The entire event took place under the guidance of Dr. Sister Marie Jessie A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College.
