Brief Report:
A two-day workshop was organised on 28th and 29th January, 2020 in the Department of Microbiology in which students of Botany, Chemistry and Zoology also participated. On the 1st day, the students were given a lecture on Mushroom, its types, reproduction and cultivation with diagrams. On the 2nd day, media (straw and husk) for mushroom cultivation were autoclaved. Then it was dried to a particular moisture level. Then gram flour was added to the straw and mixed. Then spawn (inoculum) of mushroom was added to the prepared media and packed in polythene bags. It was kept in wooden racks for further growth. This knowledge will be helpful for the students as a self-employment also. The programme was done under the Star College scheme of DBT.
