World Radio Day 2024

Guest lecture on ‘ Radio : A century informing, entertaining, and educating’

13th February 2024, Department of Mass Communication, Patna Women’s College organised a guest lecture to celebrate 100 years of radio on the occasion of World Radio Day. The resource person was Mr Rajesh Kumar, Managing trustee and Director, Radio Goonj (Supramental Foundation). The theme of the lecture was, ‘Radio : A century informing, entertaining, and educating’. The Session started with a welcome address by Ms. Roma, Head, Department of Mass Communication. She gave a brief about the journey of radio and introduced the guest speaker for the session. Mr Rajesh Kumar enlightened the students about the invention and history of radio. He also discussed about the glory of All India Radio, further he mentioned how ethically All India Radio is informing, educating and providing career options since independence. He also informed how to enroll in radio industry for different profession and suggested the students to be fearless and achiever in any field they wish to work.

It was an interactive session where the students of all semesters asked the queries. All the students of even semester were present during the entire session.

The faculty members of the department attended the session. Assistant professor Dr Aprajita Pathak proposed the vote of thanks.
