Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Future of Education

Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Future of Education

We live in a society where children increasingly rely on the internet as their main source of information, education, and entertainment as they grow up with technology at their fingertips. According to a recent survey, teenagers in the U.S. spend nearly seven hours a day in front of screens, compared to youngsters aged eight to twelve, who spend roughly five hours a day doing so (not including time spent on academics). Since the COVID-19 pandemic1 began and the subsequent social restrictions and lockdowns, the amount of time spent learning from chalkboards in actual classrooms has also decreased substantially. The way we learn will change as technology and society continue to advance and adapt, for both children and adults.

Education is impacted by the quick development of technology like robotics2, machine learning3, and artificial intelligence (AI). The emphasis should be on continuing to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) to the next generation from a young age and integrating the technology into the classroom if the education sector intends to realise AI’s full potential for everyone. Teachers are already observing that many kids use social media for AI purposes and are thus receptive to its educational uses. These skills are also highly valued in the workplace.

Artificial Intelligence’s Place in the Classroom

As a result of COVID-19, classroom technology usage has undergone tremendous transformation. Lockdowns made it necessary for many teachers all over the world to teach remotely.

There are numerous advantages of using AI in education for both students and teachers.

  • Learning resources are available at all times and from any location.
  • AI automation can finish laborious, time-consuming jobs like multiple-choice test grading and record keeping.
  • The answers to frequently asked questions can be provided via chatbots.
  • AI instructors and chatbots may be accessible at any moment to respond to inquiries.
  • Through customised programs, learning may be shaped and adjusted to each student’s objectives and capabilities.

The use of AI in education has already proven to be successful in a number of contexts, and it enhances student growth, teaching effectiveness, and learning.

How AI will Alter the Educational Landscape ?

According to the World Economic Forum, many businesses will have adopted technologies like Machine Learning by 2025.  Advances in technology could generate substantial disruptions in the workforce, as automation might replace up to 50 percent of present occupations in the U.S. alone, According to the Microsoft analysis, by the time kids graduate, they will need to be proficient in two dimensions of this new world.
