A Green Raksha Bandhan Celebration in Patna Women’s College
In a unique and environmentally conscious celebration of Raksha Bandhan, the ECO Task Force in collaboration with the Department of Zoology at Patna Women’s College organized a special event titled “A Green Raksha Bandhan with trees – A Rakhi making competition”. This event, held on August 30, 2023, aimed to highlight the importance of nature conservation and the role each individual can play in protecting our environment.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 160 students who came together in groups and made eco-friendly Rakhis. The students showcased their creativity by crafting a total of 62 Rakhis. The participants not only crafted beautiful Rakhis but tied them on the trees in the college premises, which symbolized their pledge to safeguard the trees.
The event served as a platform to spread a vital message – the urgent need to protect and conserve our trees.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sister Rashmi, the Principal of Patna Women’s College. Also in attendance were Dr. Shobha Srivastava, Dr. Sister Stuti, Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Dr. Sapna, Mr.Rajeev, Dr. Neetu, Ms. Ashiwariya Shree, Ms. Sidra Perween and Ms. Ankita. Their collective support was with the college’s commitment to holistic education and sustainable practices.
