An Industrial visit to Sudha Dairy, Patna was organised by the Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College for the students of B.Sc semester IV and VI on 25.03.2023. This visit was organised in order to enhance the industrial and scientific knowledge of the students. Mrs.Jaya Mala, Incharge Quality Control, Sudha Dairy presented an overview about the Patna Diary Project and briefly described the manufacturing processes involved.

Various components like the procurement of the raw materials, it’s screening, preparation packaging ,storage, maintenance and quality control of the products inside the Diary and their distribution was discussed by the resource persons of the Sudha Diary.
The students were taught about the importance of good quality culture for the preparation of various diary products and maintaining cold chain for the proper storage of the diary products.

Different units of the Diary like ice cream unit, ghee, butter, milk, curd and others units was visited by the students.
56 students joined for the trip and they were accompanied by Dr. Jaya Philip, Head, Department of Microbiology and Dr. Preeti Swarupa, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology.

Overall, the trip was a success, which inculcated and improved the technical and scientific knowledge of the students and they actively participated and discussed their doubts.
