“Awareness Programme on Health and Hygiene for Viksit Bharat: Psychological & Biological Perspectives”
The Department of Biotechnology organized an impactful programme titled “Awareness Programme on Health and Hygiene for Viksit Bharat: Psychological & Biological Perspectives” on 25.07.2024 at 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. in Mother Veronica Excellence & Incubation Centre (MVEIC) for the students of M.Sc. Biotechnology Semester I and Semester III. The total number of beneficiaries was 58. The primary objectives of the event were to enhance public awareness regarding health and hygiene, delve into the psychological and biological aspects of these issues, and promote best practices to foster a healthier community. Nandani Raj and Sarika Kriti, semester-I students, moderated the programme. Ms. Manisha Kumari, (Psychological Counsellor, Guidance & Counselling Centre, Department of Psychology, PWC) was the Guest Speaker for the event. The welcome address was given by Dr. Arti Kumari, (Head, Department of Biotechnology). Esteemed expert Ms. Manisha Kumari delivered insightful sessions on the interplay between mental well-being and physical health, the microbiology of hygiene, and innovative biotechnology solutions. The programme featured an interactive workshop with practical demonstrations and educational activities, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed for effective hygiene practices. This event included a slogan writing competition among eight student groups, as well as an exhibition and its depiction. Dr. Nupur Sinha (Head, Department of Psychology, PWC) & Dr. Arti Kumari (Head, Department of Biotechnology) were the judges for the event. The event concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of adopting and disseminating the discussed health and hygiene practices, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). Dr. Alok Ranjan and Dr. Premlata Kumari (Asst. Professor Department of Biotechnology) were also present. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Vivek Raj (Asst. Professor, Department of Biotechnology Patna Women’s College. The event ended with the National anthem.
