Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Jessy Sushil Modi, Head, PG Department of Education, Patna University and Member, Governing Body, Patna Women’s College.
The Inauguration Ceremony of the three new programmes, namely, B.Sc. in Data Science and Analytics, B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and B.A. in Fashion Designing, was held on 12th July, 2024.
The programme started with a Prayer, followed by lighting of the lamp by the Chief guest, Sister M. Jincy A.C., Superior (A.C.), Principal, Vice-Principal and heads of the new departments.
Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College gave the welcome address and threw light on the importance of the new courses.
Her address was follwed by the address of Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Dean, Information Technology and Systems, who stressed upon the high demand of the new courses and the how College has emerged as a leader by starting these new courses, first time, in all over Bihar.
In her address, the Chief Guest congratulated Patna Women’s College for proactively meeting current needs and demands by initiating these new courses. She emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence in today’s era and encouraged the students to work hard and make their institution proud.
Following the Chief Guest’s address, Dr. Priyadarshini, Head of the Department of Data Science and Analytics, provided a brief introduction and outlined the prospects of the new B.Sc (Hons) course. Next, Ms. Poonam Abraham Lakra, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, discussed the Artificial Intelligence course and highlighted its benefits. Subsequently,
Dr. Shemushi, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing, spoke about the importance of fashion in our daily lives and how the new Fashion Designing course will add a new feather to the institution’s prestigious cap.
One student from each course was invited to share their expectations from the course and the resaon for joining the particular course.
Dr. Priyadarshini proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries and audience present on this occasion.
