The Home Science Department organized a program in collaboration with the Fashion Designing Department to celebrate National Handloom and to commemorate the weavers of India. The program was organised in the B.J. Sullivan Hall on August 7, 2024, from 11:00 am. The event featured a Guest lecture and an interactive session with Dr. Sunita Prakash, an alumna of the college, an expert in the field and a renowned textile designer.
Dr. Prakash shared her knowledge about handlooms in India, particularly in Bihar, in an engaging and informative way. The session was made even more enjoyable with a fashion show, where students modelled beautiful outfits made from handloom fabrics.
The program was a huge success, and Dr. Prakash’s efforts, along with the students participation, made it a memorable event. The celebration promoted the appreciation of cultural heritage and the art of handloom weaving in our country.
