On 3rd May, Department of Mass Communication, Patna Women’s College organized a debate competition in online mode on the occasion of “World Press Freedom Day”. Students of Semester 2 and PGDJMC Semester 2 participated in it. It was started by the Head of Department of Mass Communication, Roma, stating the theme and historical background of World Press Day. The theme of the day this year was “Shaping the future of rights and freedom of expression as a driver of all other human rights. Each group presented their views on the threat to freedom of the press. At the end of the competition, jury members Prashant Ravi, Ankita and Divya Gautam, Assistant Professors of the Department of Mass Communication, gave some tips to the students and explained the purpose of World Press Day. Department head Roma concluded the program by expressing gratitude to all the jury members and the students. In this debate competition, Group 2 got first position while Group 1 and 4 stood second.
