Guest Lecture – Report Writing and Research Project

The Department of Sociology in collaboration with Departments of Geography, Home Science, and Political Science, Patna Women’s College organised a Guest Lecture on 19.07.2023 in the Carmel Hall of Patna Women’s College. The topic of the lecture was “Report Writing and Research Project”. The Resource Person of the Lecture was Dr. Manish Tiwari, Assistant professor, Humanities and Social Science, National Institute of Technology, Patna.
The programme commenced with the welcoming of the resourse person by Dr.Tapashi Bhattacharjee Head, Department of Sociology, Patna Women’s College with a plant sapling. Dr. Manish Tiwari then addressed the arena and acquainted the students with important terminologies of research, he discussed the real meaning of research by providing practical examples and further discussed the steps of writing report in the field of Research. He appreciated the efficiency of the teachers and the students of Patna Women’s College in the field of research. He informed the students about different websites and digital resources such as Google Scholar, Scihub and Science direct that the students can use to facilitate their research work. He talked about the advancement of digital platforms such as National Digital Library (NDL) and aquainted the students with different research tools like Ms. Excel, SPSS and Minitab that can be used for data analysis and interpretation. Thereafter Dr. Tapashi Bhattacharjee appreciated the entire session and said that she hopes that this lecture will benefit the students in conducting future research. The lecture was concluded with a question/answer session amid the students and the resource person.
Dr. Alok Jhon, Dean,National International collaborations and consultancy services, Patna Women’s College, and Dr. Vinita Priyedarshi, Head, Department of Political Science, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal and Head, Department of Home Science, Dr. Amrita Chowdhury, Head, Department of Geography were also part of the session.
